1. Introduction
Rule of Nations ("RON", "we", "us", or "our") is an independent geopolitical grand-strategy simulation accessible via ruleofnations.com and play.ruleofnations.com. We are committed to transparent, privacy-first principles. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is processed, and how you retain control over your data.
2. Offline & Local Demo Play
Rule of Nations can be played entirely anonymously in Demo / Local Play mode. In this mode:
No account creation, email address, or personally identifiable information is collected or sent to our servers.
All campaign progress, game settings, and save files are stored solely within your local browser storage (IndexedDB and LocalStorage).
Clearing your browser cache or site data will permanently erase local save records unless backed up or synced to a cloud account.
3. Cloud Synchronization & Authentication
If you choose to authenticate via OAuth providers (Apple, Google, or Discord) or register a cloud account to enable cross-device save synchronization:
Identity Data: We receive a unique cryptographic identifier (User ID) and authentication tokens issued by our infrastructure provider (Supabase Auth). We do not store your external passwords.
Save Game Payloads: Synchronized game states, timestamps, campaign identifiers, and metadata envelopes are transmitted encrypted over HTTPS and stored securely in private databases governed by strict Row-Level Security (RLS). Only your authenticated account has read and write permissions to your saves.
No Data Brokering: We never sell, rent, monetize, or share your gameplay saves or account identifiers with third-party advertising networks.
4. Technical Logs & Cookies
We use minimal, privacy-respecting technical storage:
LocalStorage: Used exclusively to persist client preferences such as UI language (e.g., English, Turkish, Spanish), visual theme (Dark/Light/System), and audio volume levels.
Server Logs: Edge routing networks (Cloudflare) maintain temporary connection logs (IP addresses, request headers, error codes) solely for DDoS mitigation, operational diagnostics, and service security. These logs are automatically rotated and purged.
5. User Rights & Data Deletion
Under applicable privacy legislation (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to inspect, export, or permanently delete your account and associated cloud saves at any time. You can trigger cloud save deletion directly from the game's campaign manager or by contacting RON Interactive.
